The English-taught joint MSc “AI for Sustainable Business Development” is an intensive one-year programme awarding ninety (90) ECTS, jointly delivered by the University of the Aegean and Royal Holloway, University of London. The programme spans two academic semesters and a summer period, during which students complete their Master’s dissertation.
In the first semester, led by the University of the Aegean, students take courses totalling 30 ECTS, offered via synchronous distance learning on platforms such as Moodle and Open eClass, with tools including Zoom and BigBlueButton. The curriculum focuses on core AI and machine learning techniques, tools for AI applications, sustainability principles, supply chain management, circular economy innovations, and the mandatory Academic Integrity module.
In the second semester, students led by Royal Holloway, University of London attend in-person classes at the RHUL Egham campus in Surrey totaling to 30 ECTS. Topics include AI and Future of Work, Responsible AI and Digital Innovation, Business Analytics in Practice, and Research and Consulting Methods, all of which strengthenthe link between AI, business practice, and research methodology. During the summer period, students undertake a dissertation (30 ECTS), conducting independent research on a topic related to AI and sustainable business development under joint academic supervision from both institutions.
The programme is designed in line with Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework and follows a constructive alignment approach, ensuring that courses, teaching methods, and assessment strategies are fully aligned with the intended learning outcomes.
