Staff Support Policy

The MSc "AI for Sustainable Business Development", offered jointly by the University of the Aegean and Royal Holloway, University of London, is committed to maintaining the highest standards in the recruitment, development and support of both its teaching and administrative staff.

Teaching Staff

Teaching staff are selected on the basis of academic qualifications, research output, teaching experience, international profile, and expertise in fields directly relevant to the Programme — including artificial intelligence, sustainable business, data analytics, digital transformation and management science. Particular emphasis is placed on aligning each staff member's academic profile with the MSc's learning outcomes.

Faculty members benefit from a comprehensive range of development opportunities: funding to participate in international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals, access to research databases, Erasmus+ mobility for professional development, and educational leave for research visits abroad. Teaching quality is monitored each semester through student evaluation questionnaires, whose results inform the annual review conducted by the Programme Committee in collaboration with OMEA and MODIP.

All classrooms and facilities are equipped with modern technology to support innovative and hybrid teaching. Faculty can deliver lectures through the e-class and Moodle platforms, incorporating interactive teaching, guest speaker sessions, video recordings and student project presentations.

Recruitment, appointment and promotion of faculty are governed by national legislation, including Law 5094/2024, and the institutional regulations of the University of the Aegean, ensuring full transparency and meritocracy.

Administrative Staff

Administrative staff supporting the Programme are offered a broad range of continuing professional development opportunities, including Erasmus+ staff mobility, training programmes through the National Centre for Public Administration (EKDDA), internal seminars on institutional information systems (student registry, DocuTracks, MODIP), and free language courses in English and Mandarin.

The University's Teaching and Learning Support Centre (KEDIMA) provides specialised training in distance education methodologies, Moodle platform use, and the design of digital learning materials. All staff engaged in technology-enhanced teaching are supported by guides and resources available through the University's Digital Governance Unit.

This policy is reviewed annually and is aligned with the quality assurance framework of the University of the Aegean and the requirements of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
